The Department of Mathematics, Christ (Deemed to be University) organized a two day workshop on “Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)” on the 30th of November and 1st of December 2018 at Christ (Deemed to be University). The workshop was conducted by Dr. Purushothama Chippar, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering department, St. Joseph Engineering College (SJEC). Around 50 students including postgrads and research scholars were enlightened by the ongoing research in the topic of discussion.
In his lecture Dr. Purushothama focused on basic concepts of CFD and the software ANSYS Fluent which is used to create
simulations using complex programmings. The three dimensional modelling of fluid flow in t-pipe through ANSYS Fluent software was the main highlight of the workshop. The session was received with admiration by the students and they also found the slides appropriate. The event ended with honorarium to the guest and vote of thanks.
